Last updated on:
Friday 20 June, 2008
The Museum holds a number of special events and activities throughout the year.
There is something for everyone!
- The special event weekends take people back in time
with re-enactors bringing soldiers from past wars
to life with demonstrations of drill and equipment.
Lectures provide historical detail, handling sessions
give you a chance to get close to museum artefacts
and quiz sheets and workshops allow children to explore
themes as broad as the Zulu Wars, World War One and
the Army today.
- Stories from the Stores - Saturday sessions giving visitors the chance to explore artefacts from the stores. Sessions start at 2.00pm and run for about 1 hour.
- Our school holiday events give children a chance
to be creative, making everything from Chinese dragons
to Zulu shields.
- Experts pass on their knowledge at our regular weekend
or evening lectures.
- Model exhibitions and books fairs are a good day
out for those looking for something different.
