The Museum holds a number of special events and activities throughout the year.

There is something for everyone!

  • The special event weekends take people back in time with re-enactors bringing soldiers from past wars to life with demonstrations of drill and equipment. Lectures provide historical detail, handling sessions give you a chance to get close to museum artefacts and quiz sheets and workshops allow children to explore themes as broad as the Zulu Wars, World War One and the Army today.

  • Stories from the Stores - Saturday sessions giving visitors the chance to explore artefacts from the stores. Sessions start at 2.00pm and run for about 1 hour.

  • Our school holiday events give children a chance to be creative, making everything from Chinese dragons to Zulu shields.

  • Experts pass on their knowledge at our regular weekend or evening lectures.

  • Model exhibitions and books fairs are a good day out for those looking for something different.

Regional events held by Friends of the Royal Engineers Museum (FoREM) are also listed below.
